Dr. Anwar Al-Harbi was known as one of the personalities specialized in the field of information technology since he was a lecturer at the College of Business Studies, the College of Health Sciences, and other colleges of the Public Authority for Applied Education. Al-Dustour newspaper, which is issued by the Kuwaiti National Assembly, and he worked as managing editor for a monthly magazine called (Internet Horizons) He was an effective and active member of the Kuwait Society for Information Technology specialized in providing courses, organizing conferences and authoring, as he authored several books on Microsoft programs for the benefit of the Society at the time, the last of which was about writing a book about the checkers game using artificial intelligence.
And he was known through the TV screen on the first channel of the State of Kuwait TV (15) years ago, in the first program specialized in information technology and the program was called ((Computer World)) with his colleague Dr. Muhammad Al-Mulla, and the program was very popular and accepted because it was the first of its kind not In Kuwait, but also at the level of the Middle East, and it was an educational and awareness program, and he also presented an English-language program on the second Kuwaiti satellite channel under the name ((Digital Talk)). He changed the radio programs in the Public Program Radio and the second program in the State of Kuwait Radio. A star classifier in preparing and presenting scientific programs specialized in information technology on radio and television. He also presented radio programs under the name “Technology Stations” with his colleague, Dr. Abeer Al-Amiri, on the broadcast of the second program.
He is currently working as a consultant in the technical office of the Director General of the Central Agency for Information Technology.
He graduated from Oxford Brookes University from the city of Oxford in Britain with a Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering and joined the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training as a scholarship assistant. He completed his postgraduate studies at the University of Salford in Manchester, Britain, specializing in information technology and artificial intelligence, where he developed the popular checkers game using artificial intelligence programs. The first place in the competition of the Arab Organization for Culture and Science of the Arab League in the competition ((Great Mobile Applications)) as the best educational game and intelligence game.
عرف الدكتور أنور الحربي بأنه أحد الشخصيات المتخصصة في مجال تكنولوجيا المعلومات منذ ان كان محاضرا في كلية الدراسات التجارية وكلية العلوم الصحية وغيرها من كليات الهيئة العامة للتعليم التطبيقي، وتميز بالإعلام التكنولوجي حيث كان كاتب صحفي في جريدة الراي ( كمبيوتر الراي ) ومن ثم في جريدة الانباء وجريدة الدستور التي يصدرها مجلس الامة الكويتي وعمل مدير تحرير لمجلة شهرية باسم ( افاق الانترنت) وكان عضوا فعالا ونشيطا في الجمعية الكويتية لتقنية المعلومات المتخصصة في تقديم الدورات وتنظيم المؤتمرات والتأليف حيث الف عدة كتب عن برامج مايكروسوفت لصالح الجمعية في حينها واخرها كان عن تأليف كتاب لعبة الدامة باستخدام الذكاء الاصطناعي.
وعرف من خلال شاشة التلفزيون في القناة الأولى في تلفزيون دولة الكويت قبل (15) سنة تقريباً في أول برنامج متخصص في تكنولوجيا المعلومات والبرنامج باسم ((عالم الكمبيونت)) مع زميله الدكتور محمد الملا ، والبرنامج لاقى رواجاً كبيراً وقبولاً لأنه كان الأول من نوعه ليس في الكويت بل على مستوى الشرق الأوسط، وكان برنامج تثقيفي توعوي، وقام أيضاً بتقديم برنامج باللغة الإنجليزية على القناة الفضائية الكويتية الثانية باسم ((ديجيتال توك)) غير البرامج الاذاعية في إذاعة البرنامج العام والبرنامج الثاني في إذاعة دولة الكويت. ومصنف نجم في اعداد وتقديم البرامج العلمية المتخصصة في تكنولوجيا المعلومات في الإذاعة والتلفزيون. وقدم أيضاً برامج إذاعية باسم ((محطات تكنولوجية)) مع زميلته الدكتورة عبير العميري في إذاعة البرنامج الثاني، ويعمل حاليا مستشار في المكتب الفني للمدير العام في الجهاز المركزي لتكنولوجيا المعلومات.
تخرج من جامعة أكسفورد بروكس من مدينة أكسفورد في بريطانيا حاصلاً على البكالوريوس في الهندسة الالكترونية والتحق بالهيئة العامة للتعليم التطبيق والتدريب كمعيد بعثة وأكمل دراسته العليا في جامعة سالفورد في مانشستر بريطانيا متخصصاً تكنولوجيا المعلومات وفي الذكاء الاصطناعي حيث طور لعبة الدامة الشعبية باستخدام برامج الذكاء الاصطناعي، وحاز على المركز الأول في مسابقة المنظمة العربية للثقافة والعلوم التابعة للجامعة العربية في مسابقة ((تطبيقات الجوال الكبرى)) كأفضل لعبة تعليمية ولعبة ذكاء.
