Electric Networks Department

 A. DEPARTMENT MISSIONEstablished in 1993, the Electrical Networks department’s mission is to supply the Kuwait’s job market with well-trained and skilled technicians that cater to the electrical distribution and monitoring fields and coincide with technologies implemented by the Electrical Distribution partners.
We strive to ensure that our programs and students are up to date with current implemented technologies and instilling worldwide technologies to our student as preparation for the future,
Our mission cycles starts with the needs of the electrical job market, mediates with analysis, and restarts with implementation ensuring our most precious resource, our students are prepared to have long and productive careers in their field.
 
B. Program Educational Objectives
The program educational objectives (PEOs) support the mission of the department and of the Institution.
The Technical Program at Electrical Network Department expects the graduates within a few years of graduation to attain the following:
1- Demonstrate fundamental and emerging mathematical, scientific, and technical skills necessary to function as an engineering technician in related positions in industry and government.
2- Build an awareness of the social, ethical, and global issues.
3- Demonstrate communication skills necessary to function effectively as a member of a technical team.
4- Serve society and the global community.

C. Student Outcomes:
The nine student outcomes for the Electrical Network technology program’s concentrations at the High Institute of Energy are listed below. They encompass all of the ETAC/ABET criterion 3 outcomes as recommended by the institute and the department’s programs advisory council after last revision.

  1. An ability to apply the knowledge, techniques, skills, and modern tools of the discipline to narrowly defined engineering technology activities.
  1. An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering, and technology to engineering technology problems that require limited application of principles but extensive practical knowledge.
  1. An ability to conduct standard tests and measurements, and to conduct, analyze, and interpret experiments.
  1. An ability to function effectively as a member of a technical team.
  1. An ability to identify, analyze, and solve narrowly defined engineering technology problems.
  1. An ability to apply written, oral, and graphical communication in both technical and non-technical environments; and an ability to identify and use appropriate technical literature.
  1. An understanding of the need for and an ability to engage in self-directed continuing professional development.
  1. An understanding of and a commitment to address professional and ethical responsibilities, including a respect for diversity.
  1. A commitment to quality, timeliness, and continuous improvement.


The Electrical Networks Department seeks to provide education that achieves comprehensive quality for trainees using modern technology in light of public participation among its members, the labor market and the administration of the Institute. From this point of view, the Electrical Networks Department was keen to be the first to obtain academic recognition at the authority level. The Electrical Networks Department is in a permanent and continuous development, as the number of its programs has been increased from four to seven, and there are three other programs that have been completed awaiting the approval of the concerned authorities.
