The Quality Management Office was established at The Higher Institute of Telecommunication and Navigation in 1995 as the Quality Assurance Office. The first quality office in the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training. In addition, the office is directly followed by the Director of the Institute. Nevertheless, the Institute obtained the quality certificate according to the requirements of ISO 9000:1994 and was established by the British BSI in 1997. It is considered th first training institute and educational institution in Kuwait to receive a quality certificate
During 2004, the transition to the new quality management system was completed ISO 9001:2000 after the issuance of quality documents compatible with the requirements of the new system. In October 2005, the Institute obtained the quality certificate according to the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 by BVQI. Moreover, in December 2007, the Institute obtained the quality certificate in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2005 by the BV Company. The quality certificate expired in January 2010, and the Institute obtained the ISO 9001:2015 quality management certificate in June 2017 as the first institute on the level of Kuwait gets ISO 9001:2015 certification
In 2011, academic accreditation for the specialized Departments was added to the Quality Assurance Management Office. In 2014, the Institute received Accreditations from the American Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) for two programs, which are Wireless Networking Technology Program from the Telecommunications Department and Computer Operations Technology Program from the Computer Department. In 2017, the three remaining programs for both Departments, Telecommunications and Computer Departments, were Accredited by the American Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET), making all programs for both Departments Accredited by ABET
