ENGL 098 is a non-credit remedial English course required for A2-B1 level students admitted to the College of Nursing, who failed the English Proficiency Test (EPT). This course focuses on introducing speaking, listening, reading and paragraph writing skills necessary for success in the academic atmosphere.  By utilizing the lecture method, pair work, class activities, and student-instructor conferences, students will improve in their note-taking skills, correctness, vocabulary, and fluency in delivering a formal presentation of 2-4 minutes. Instructors will provide structured learning tasks and monitor students' progress, providing them with feedback, correction and guidance to equip them with the knowledge and the skills needed to successfully progress in college-level courses.
