This
course will focus on the construction, operation, equivalent circuit, vector
diagrams, and efficiency of synchronous generators and motors, and induction
motors. Topics like winding arrangement, tests, power–torque relations,
V–curves, torque–speed characteristics, methods of starting, and speed control
will also be demonstrated. The course includes laboratory experimental setup
for different types of synchronous and induction machines
