Graduation Requirements

A student shall graduate from the college if he satisfies the following requirements:

Successfully completing all courses required for graduation.
Earning at least a 2.00 GPA or major average.
The Dean of Student and Trainee Affairs’ Office shall prepare a list of the students who satisfy all graduation requirements in accordance with these regulations and orders issued for implementation thereof, and the office shall submit the same to the Director General for approval by the Board of Directors of PAAET.The student who meets all graduation requirements shall be awarded a certificate stating his major, date of graduation and GPA in accordance with these regulations and orders made for implementation thereof. The certificate shall be signed by the college Dean and the Director General and approved by Chairman of the Board of Directors according to the list of qualified graduates. GPAs upon graduation shall be as follows:
  • Excellent:3.60-4.00
  • Very Good:2.80-3.60
  • Good:2.00-2.80

Degree and Diplomas Awarded

College of Technological Studies / PAAET shall award the following diploma degree: “A Diploma in Applied Sciences according to the majors offered by PAAET colleges as provided hereunder following a normal period of study ranging from at least four to five semesters for holders of Secondary School Certificate or an equivalent certificate.

Honour’s degree

The student who successfully completes his studies during the normal period thereof with a- GPA of at least 3.75 shall be awarded an honors’ degree/diploma, provided he has not previously faced any disciplinary action.

Code of Ethics for Engineering Technicians and Technologists

The purpose of this Code of Ethics is to give general statements of the principles of ethical conduct in order that the Engineering Technicians/Technologists graduated from the College of Technological Studies in Kuwait may fulfill their duty to the public, the profession, and their fellow members of the profession.
The following code of ethics principles shall be understood as a general guide, and not as a denial of the existence of other duties equally imperative and other rights though not specifically mentioned.

The Engineering Technicians/Technologists shall:

  1. Hold paramount the safety, health and welfare of the public, the protection of the environment and the promotion of health and safety within the workplace.
  2. Undertake and accept responsibility for professional assignments only when qualified by training or experience.
  3. Provide an opinion on a professional subject only when it is based upon adequate knowledge and honest judgment.
  4. Act with integrity towards clients or employers, maintain confidentiality and avoid a conflict of interest but, where such conflict arises, fully disclose the circumstances without delay to the employer or client.
  5. Protect the credibility of others within the profession and not attempt to maliciously or falsely injure it.
  6. Uphold the principle of appropriate and adequate compensation for the performance of their work.
  7. Keep informed to maintain proficiency and competence, to advance the body of knowledge within their discipline and to provide opportunities for the professional development of their associates.
  8. Conduct themselves with fairness, courtesy and good faith towards clients, colleagues and others, give credit where it is due and accept, as well as give, honest and fair professional comment.
  9. Present clearly to employers and clients the possible consequences if professional decisions or judgments’ are overruled or disregarded.
  10. Report to the appropriate agencies any hazardous, illegal or unethical professional decisions or practices by fellow members of the profession or others.
  11. Promote public knowledge and appreciation of applied science technology and protect their professional and technical societies from misrepresentation and misunderstanding.
